LAST SUMMER WE INSTALLED A NEW ARENA WITH A PERMANENT STADIUM JUMP COURSE.  CINDY SHONKA IS NOW TEACHING DRESSAGE, JUMPING AND BASIC ENGLISH LESSONS FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS.  SHE IS A GIFTED RIDER AND AN EXCELLENT COMMUNICATOR, A RARE COMBINATION.  CINDY IS OFFERING INTRODUCTORY SPECIAL LESSONS AT $25 YOUR HORSE, $35 A SCHOOLHORSE.

SPEAKING OF TRAINING, DOMINIQUE HART, 2011 COBRA SERIES CHAMPION AND SNAFFLE BIT FUTURITY CONTENDER, IS RUNNING AN AWESOME GAMING/PEE-WEE RODEO PROGRAM HERE AT SHR.

HER LESSON KIDS ARE WINNING AT BARRELS & POLE BENDING ALL OVER CENTRAL OREGON & HAVING A WONDERFUL TIME DOING IT!  SHE TEACHES ROPING & GOAT-TYING, TOO.  DOMINIQUE IS NOT ONLY AN INCREDIBLE INSTRUCTOR, SHE IS AN EXTREMELY TALENTED TRAINER, AND HAS SEVERAL HORSES IN TRAINING HERE.  WE SPELL DOMINIQUE B-U-S-Y, BUT SHE SOMEHOW MAKES TIME FOR EVERYONE!  HER # IS 541-306-9097.  SHE IS TEACHING IN OUR NEW GAMING ARENA, ALSO BUILT LAST SUMMER.

 EVEN THOUGH WE ARE ONLY MINUTES FROM DOWNTOWN BEND, YOU CAN LITERALLY RIDE TO THE PACIFIC CREST TRAIL FROM HERE AND THEN TO MEXICO OR CANADA.      

Silver Horse Ranch is  home to the Summit High School Equestrian Team.  We are happy to welcome Central Oregon Pony Club to the barn this 2012 season as well.

*WESTERN & ENGLISH RIDING LESSONS!

Registrations are ongoing and we welcome you to try one of our riding lesson groups.  We offer group lessons for children and adults, and private lessons, too.  Hit the "lessons/training" button on the navigation bar for details.

We also lease horses and have helped many satisfied customers find the horse of their dreams.

Silver Horse Ranch is a full-care Bend horse boarding barn offering English and Western riding lessons and horse training located between Bend's Westside and Tumalo, Oregon. We're across the street from the Skyline Forest with it’s 40,000 acres of beautiful trails, and an easy ride to the famed Tumalo Reservoir trails and the Deschutes National Forest.  Ride the prettiest trails in central Oregon during our regular Saturday guided trail rides.  Everyone is welcome- boarders and non-boarders alike- free of charge.

Our barns and pastures are situated on a lovely and private 40 acres with rolling meadows, pine and aspen groves and mountain views. We have a 72' x 120' indoor arena, and a 100' x 200' outdoor arena, both with excellent sand footing.  And we now have the jump and gaming arenas, too.

The ranch features a 60' round pen for training or exercise. We also have a mile long track circling the pastures for those first trail rides or when time is short. The track has several obstacles including jumps, a series of large, broad steps and a water feature.

We just added a new permanent trail course and are now expanding it into an extreme trail course.  

Again, boarding horses is our foundation and we welcome horses in all stages of life including retirement.  We are fortunate to be able to provide a very broad array of boarding acommodations.  Whether you are looking for a private box stall with a 60' run, a group pasture, dry lot or something in-between...we probably have it.
